A present for Mom and an Announcement

Baby #2 is on its way to the Turner house! We are so excited and feeling very blessed to be able to have another sweet spirit join our family. Owen does not understand what is going on, but he does know that Mom is sick a lot. When I am laying down, he yells to Todd, "Dad, please bring Mom some medicine and some cheese and water and.." (it's a long list of stuff that he thinks I need!). Our neighbor Tiffany brought over a basket of goodies for me and Owen thought that was a perfect idea for him too. After I moved the stuff out of the basket, he filled it with his own treasures - newspaper from his garbage truck, his shovel, pacifier, monkey, and some cars; and brought it to me. "Here, Mom, a present for you to feel better." What a sweet boy we have, so lucky to be his Mom.

Canada Day

We were in Canada over Canada Day this year, not planned, but my dear friend from high school passed away after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. We went home to go to his funeral and were able to spend time with Mom and Rayell and her kids. Lots of creek time, it was SO HOT, a trip to Fort Steele, and of course poutine at A&W. When I was growing up, Jaffray didn't really do much for Canada Day, just a bunch of people shooting off their guns in the distance after dark. But, they did it up in style, with a dinner at the Hall and a huge fireworks show. We headed over after dark and the kids played on the sand pile while we waited for the fireworks to start. Owen thought they were so awesome. Late night though!

Best pictures of the trip - the progression of waiting for the train... of course the highlight for Owen, lots of waiting and his smile at the end says it was all worth it!

Waiting

Still waiting

When is this train going to get here?

On the train, but still not moving!

 Wahoo!
